Childrens reading room for LOROS bookshop

We’re delighted with the finished result of our ’60 Hour Makeover’ for the 2011 Thomas May Executive Quest, where we completely transformed the interior of the childrens room in the LOROS bookshop on Queens Road in Leicester into a magical woodland room with toad stool seats and astro-turf flooring. Alongside carrying out the work within our target of 60 hours we also managed to raise almost £2000 for LOROS and Prostaid, so a huge thank you for everyone who kindly donated.

Special thanks must also go to the companies that kindly donated all of the building materials – EH Smith builders merchantJohnstones Leyland paintsNextHarrison SurfacingPCF DisplaysPaul Hunt Woodworking and Fullsquare for printing and graphics.

The room has been a complete hit with the bookshops younger clientele, creating a space that will hopefully drive more sales of childrens books and help to raise even more money for LOROS. We were only too happy make our contribution to these two worthy causes, even though the (very long) weekend we spent was quite a grueling undertaking!
